The Rugrats League is essentially for players age 3 and older age 2 players. See our main Rec Season Information page for the specific birth years for the current registration season that apply to this Age Group.
This will be an instructional league where the focus is not on who can run the fastest to the ball and just kick it, but on the basic fundamental skills that a soccer player should possess: dribbling, passing, and shooting. These things will be taught in a clinic type atmosphere with you, the parent, learning as your child does. It is more like a Mommy or Daddy and Me league. 100% fun, no score keeping, no competition, no experience required not even for the parents.
Rugrats will not practice during the work week. Instead, they will have a 30-minute skills session followed by a 15 to 30-minute 3 vs 3 game.
So come enjoy something with your child and be a part of the seed that hopefully leads to a love of this incredible sport.
NOTE: No volunteer coaches are needed for Rugrats. Rugrats is offered in a group setting led by an NRSA-identified coach - so while our system will offer volunteer coaching or admin opportunities during registration, no volunteers are needed for Rugrats (unfortunately we can't turn that off for Rugrats). Parents of these players are part of making it fun for the players. Parents will have lots of other volunteer opportunities available to fulfill their volunteer requirement.
Rugrats will use a Size 3 soccer ball.
