The North River Soccer Association (NRSA) is a nonprofit group run entirely by volunteers whose goal is to promote and organize recreational and competitive youth soccer in the Chattanooga area. We began our program in 2005 and are located in the City of Chattanooga's first soccer complex, the Cleveland T Grimes Soccer Complex at Dupont Park. We are a member of the Tennessee State Soccer Association, an affiliate of the U.S. Youth Soccer Association.
North River Soccer Association's goal is to provide an organized soccer program that is fun for the participants, and that also provides opportunities to teach youth players ages 3 thru 18 the skills, fundamentals, teamwork, strategy and sportsmanship of soccer.
For North River Soccer Association recreational soccer means - the emphasis is on participation, learning and fun - as opposed to winning. This emphasis shows up in several ways. Although we keep score and declare winners, there are no league standings and there is no official league championship. Coaches are required to substitute throughout the game and each player is guaranteed to play in at least 50% of the game.
Another way we encourage participation is through a small volunteer requirement. Parents, family and friends may volunteer to support our program on behalf of their registered player. Be sure to ask our Volunteer Coordinator how you can help.
